1. Do differences in the strength of acupressure/massage pressure affect the effectiveness of relieving stiff shoulders?

``With heavy pressure, parasympathetic nerve activity decreased and then increased during the exercise, and after the completion of the exercise, a decrease in the POMS score and a significant decrease in the degree of stiff shoulders were observed (P < .05).On the other hand, with mild pressure, during the exercise Although parasympathetic nerve activity increased from the time to the end, there was no significant decrease in the degree of stiff shoulders after the end, suggesting that the stiff shoulders were not relieved. Judging comprehensively from the evaluation, it was found that strong pressure was slightly more effective in relieving stiff shoulders than light pressure.

2. Effects of 60-second compression methods of different intensities on muscle hardness

We set a compression point and a point 3 cm distal to the proximal part of the tibialis anterior muscle in healthy subjects, and aimed to clarify the effect of compression intensity on muscle stiffness. Compression was applied to the pressure point using the pad of the right thumb for 60 seconds, and the muscle stiffness was measured before, immediately after, and 5 minutes after compression.The results showed that there was no difference in muscle stiffness immediately after compression and after 5 minutes due to compression intensity. It was shown that even an intensity of 2 kg can sufficiently reduce muscle stiffness. Furthermore, for 4 kg and 8 kg, it was suggested that the higher the muscle stiffness before compression, the greater the change in muscle stiffness immediately after compression.
